Update: Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) and Title 5 U.S. Code Student Loan Repayment Program (SLRP)
This is follow up to our February 9, 2023, User Group memo “Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) and Title 5 U.S. Code Student Loan Repayment Program (SLRP).” The testing we performed, revealed that it is necessary to seek additional guidance from the OPM related to the Nature of Action processing capabilities within FPPS.

March 2023 Headcount Report
On February 22, 2023, the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) notified the Interior Business Center to submit, on behalf of our customer agencies, the March 2023 Headcount report. OPM requests the semi-annual Headcount in March and September of each year. This year, the March 2023 Headcount report is due to OPM by March 31, 2023.

Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) and Title 5 U.S. Code Student Loan Repayment Program (SLRP)
The time-limited changes to the PSLF Program rules, ended on October 31, 2022, referred to as the limited PSLF waiver, allowed borrowers to receive credit for past periods of repayment that would otherwise not qualify for PSLF.

2023 Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Agreed-Upon Procedures (AUP) Engagement - Reminder of Agency Responsibilities
The annual OPM AUP begins in the April/May timeframe. The purpose of the audit is to assist OPM in assessing the reasonableness of Retirement, Health Benefits, and Life Insurance withholdings, contributions, and data submissions.
