PIV card certificates are valid for three years from the date of Activation. You have 90 days from the date of your advisory email to renew your certificates. If you do not renew your digital certificates within a 90 day period of your card will be terminated and system access will be limited or revoked.
There are two ways to update your HSPD-12 card certificates:
IBC Light Activation Center
To update your PIV card certificates you can make an appointment using the GSA Online Scheduler
GSA Credentialing Center
To schedule your appointment at http://www.fedidcard.gov/ or using the GSA Online Scheduler
Appointment Scheduling Information: For appointment type please select “Card Update - Update your EXISTING credential and PIN resets” in order to get your card updated continue following the scheduler prompts to complete the appointment scheduling process.
