Using Reasonable Accommodations Notification for PSB Intake Box Submissions

MEMORANDUM

DATE: Thursday, October 17, 2024
TO: Personnel Security Agency Point of Contact
FROM: Donessa L. Gaspar, Chief, Security and Drug & Alcohol Testing Division
SUBJECT: Using Reasonable Accommodations Notification for PSB Intake Box Submissions

To HR Representatives and CORs:

In our continuous efforts to provide exceptional customer service, our office has identified an opportunity to improve communication between Human Resource Representatives/Contract Representatives and our Personnel Security Staff via the PSB Intake Box. This request focuses on reasonable accommodations and how our office can more effectively address them during pre-employment determinations, internal transfers/promotions, and reinvestigations.

There are two points where reasonable accommodations can be noted in submissions to the PSB Intake Box: within the HR/COR email to the Intake Box and on the cover page for the individual being submitted for processing.

We encourage HR/COR's to leverage these opportunities to indicate any required reasonable accommodation when submitting personnel for processing. Having this information will enable our office to communicate more effectively with the individual. Please refrain from including any medical information concerning the applicant's disability within the documentation; only specify the accommodations required to complete their documentation successfully, e.g., contacting them by phone when emails are sent, etc.

Regards,

Donessa L. Gaspar
Chief, Security and Drug & Alcohol Testing Division
