The FPPS does not provide edits when the IRS maximum is approaching but will automatically stop the Thrift Savings Plan deduction when the IRS maximum has been reached.
The advance warning is a general one, distributed to all employees through their User Group Representative. No individual advance warning is given. However, employees will no longer see a TSP deduction on their Leave and Earnings statement when the maximum is reached.
The FPPS is programmed to increase the CSRS offset contribution from .80% to 7% for retirement code C and from 1.3% to 7.5% for retirement code E when the applicable limit is reached for the year.
