On November 28, 2025, the Benefits Processing Branch began issuing Retroactive Thrift Adjustment letters to impacted employees. The letters outlined an employee’s options for missed Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) contributions during the government shutdown. In the last paragraph of the letter, it instructs the employee to contact the Customer Support Center with any questions. Unfortunately, the area code for the Customer Support Center is incorrectly listed as "888" and the correct number should be 1-866-367-1272.
We are requesting assistance from our User Group Community. Please help disseminate the correct phone number to all impacted employees. If employees have questions pertaining to their Retroactive Thrift Adjustment letter, please ask them to contact the Customer Support Center at 1-866-FOR-1-CSC (1-866-367-1272). They can also email Payroll_Helpdesk@ios.doi.gov.
