Process Automation

IBC can provide process automation solutions to customers to make processes more efficient and cost-effective on behalf of client organizations.

The goal of process automation is to perform the routine, low value work of an employee, allowing that employee to focus on more analytic, high value work, creating maximum efficiencies. Process automation technology can help federal agencies improve process efficiency, cost efficiency, as well as strengthening controls. Ultimately, adding more value to client organizations, without requiring an onerous and complex system implementation.

Services

IBC provides program expertise and oversight for process automation functions, including evaluating and documenting business processes and providing improvements through process automation tools. Our service model includes both development and implementation of automated solutions, as well as O&M services to maintain those solutions. Our services include requirements gathering, process analysis, coding, testing, production deployment, and O&M. Using process automation tools such as Robotics Process Automation (RPA) software and Intelligent Optical Character Recognition (IOCR) technology, IBC can automate more complicated processes that RPA alone cannot.

Process Automation Technologies

  • RPA software tools are used to capture, develop, schedule, and ultimately perform rules-based business processes routinely accomplished by humans. RPA software is used to perform those routine tasks, exactly like a human user with the same system access and roles. RPA can be used for multi-application, repetitive, rules-based processes, such as invoice processing. Processing time is much faster, consistent, and reliable compared to manual process approaches, reducing/eliminating error rates.

  • IOCR is self-learning software designed to automatically read typed and handwritten documents in a variety of formats and templates to create and deliver a single upload file of data for direct consumption by other systems. IOCR is more than just standard OCR that involves converting images/scanned files into digital format. IOCR includes steps such as automatically sorting different documents, identifying data/areas documents that need to be digitized, data validation mechanisms, and exception handling interface. IOCR automatically reads, extracts and delivers data.
