Subject: Update – Albuquerque Data Center VPN connections

As we’ve previously shared, the DOI Denver Data Center serving IBC’s applications is moving to DOI’s new Albuquerque Data Center with a final cutover Memorial Day weekend (May 27, 2022, through May 30, 2022).

Updated Plan

We had previously reached out to customers with existing VPN connections about setting up new VPN connections at the Albuquerque Data Center.  In order to mitigate risk, we have updated our move plan to:

  1. Delay the telecommunications transition until after the cutover weekend. Network traffic will be backhauled through Denver while telecommunication connections are established in Albuquerque. This should be transparent to customers with no impact to response times; and
  2. After the move is complete, utilize our disaster recovery tools to transition existing VPN connections to the Albuquerque Data Center. This will eliminate the need to set up new connections. Customers will just need to test to make sure that the migrated VPN connections are working properly.

The backhaul solution has been fully tested and is working as expected with no latency.

VPN connections are currently planned to transition to Albuquerque within the first two weeks in June. Customers with existing VPN connections will need to test the new connections the weekends of June 3-5 or June 10-12. After completion of the data center move, we will notify Individual customers on which of the two weekends their VPN move will occur.

Thank you for being a valued customer of IBC.
