Acquisition Tips & Tools #59: FAITAS Access Restored

In this month’s Tips and Tools we are notifying our DOI customers that the Federal Acquisition Institute Training Application System (FAITAS) access has been fully restored as of March 30, 2018.
However, please be aware the system is very slow! It has been recommended that users in the east may have better results early in the morning, whereas, users in the west may have better results in the evenings. As users start to access the system please consider the following:

  • Expiring FAC certifications (Dec-Mar) take priority, the current administrative grace period is 120 days (for example -- Dec 2017 renewals should be processed in FAITAS by Apr 2018)
  • For applications processed through the FAITAS workaround but have not been approved, please contact the BACC for status updates  
  • DO NOT contact the FAI Helpdesk at this time, as they are overwhelmed
  • Please review the FAITAS FAQs for help first
  • Review your FAITAS profile and update if needed. Log into FAITAS, navigate "My Status" then "Profile".  Also please make sure you answer "Yes" to the last question "Acquisition Workforce Member?" then answer the sub-questions accordingly.
  • Reminders for FAC renewals: Only upload non-DAU/FAI training; do not upload any training repeated within a four-year period; do not upload DOI mandatory training (except Ethics) e.g. FISSA, Privacy Awareness, Records Management, etc; and be sure to include one hour of acquisition related ethics training for each year of your maintenance cycle (Note: a two hour ethics class taken in year one does not count for year two as well.) For training options (including ethics), please contact the BACC.
