Acquisition Tips & Tools #56: DOI Enterprise-Wide Awards
Issue Date: January 2, 2018
In Tips & Tools #54, we introduced Category Management and in Tips & Tools #55 we explored Best in Class (BIC) sourcing solutions. This month we are continuing with that theme and reviewing DOI Enterprise-Wide Awards, which AQD can utilize to help meet your mission requirements.
To refresh your memory, Category Management is a systematic, disciplined approach to managing a product category as a strategic business unit. Whereas BIC is a government-wide designation for acquisition solutions that can be used by multiple agencies which satisfy key criteria. In an effort to support Category Management through the use of strategic sourcing initiatives, DOI has established several DOI Enterprise-Wide Awards.
DOI Enterprise-Wide Awards are contract vehicles awarded by one bureau or office that are available for use by other bureaus and offices. DOI has established a number of Enterprise-Wide contracts to include many of the Office of the Chief Information Officer’s (OCIO’s) technology related contract vehicles. For your convenience, the department has created an Enterprise-Wide Awards Site that contains a list of contract vehicles available for department-wide use, sorted by category.
In addition to the Enterprise-Wide Awards, the department has established several mandatory use acquisition solutions. All of the approved mandatory use acquisition solutions and implementing joint memoranda (to date, there are 10) are captured in the DOI-AAAP-0088, Acquisition Mandatory Use Joint Memoranda.
Don't forget, AQD is here to help you put DOI Enterprise-Wide Awards to work for you and utilize Mandatory Use solutions to meet your mission needs.
